While researching the births and baptisms of the children of Eva Dauer and Joseph Plenzler, I stumbled upon an interesting baptismal record.
The child baptized was Peter (Petrum) Mruk. Peter was born May 28, 1894 and baptized the same day. Parents are noted as Michael Mruk and Margarita Plencler. Knowing that Plencler is a variant spelling of Plenzler, I am curious to learn whether Joseph had siblings in the Toledo area. Interestingly, baptismal sponsors are listed as Laurentius Jarczynski (sp?) and Eva Plencler.
Here is a copy of the baptismal record and it is transcribed below.
Dies Mensis: 28 Mai
Ego infrascriptus baptizavi: Petrum Mruk
Natum 28 Mai
ex Michaele Mruk
et Margaritta Plencler
Patrini fuerunt: Laurentius Jarczynski, Eva Plencler
F.S. Motoulewski
If you have any information, please email me or drop a comment here. Thanks!

I found this on the Poznan Project…I think this would be an older sister to Joseph, John, Catherine, Elizabeth and Kunegunda Plenzler. She would have been born about 1851. Maybe she and Michael never came over to America. The others did.
Catholic parish in Głuszyna [Gluschin], entry # 17 in 1866 score: Groom: 100%
Michael Mruk (20)
Margaretha Plenzler (15)

Noticing that the baptism record of their child Peter was from Toledo,(you wrote) and Eva is listed as a sponser, I guess Margaret did move here too. The other sisters both married Zalas boys. Elizabeth to Joseph Zalas and Kunegunda to Stanislaus Zalas. I don’t know if the boys were brothers. I don’t think so. Do you have these sisters?

Judy, I did NOT have the sisters. When I was looking for as many Plenzlers as I could locate, here is what I found:
John & Clara, Chicago abt 1910-1920
children: George, Florence, Evelyn, Alexander, Virginia
Albert & Hattie, abt 1920, St. Joe, Indiana
children: Sylvester, Aloysius, Harry, Agnes, Clara, Thomas, Bennie, Leo
Mary Plenzler, d. Chicago 9/10/1891
Monica Plenzler m. Fredrick Niesz abt. 1871, NY
s. Christian b. 1/19/1871
Bronislawa/Bessie Plenzler m. Joseph Tamillo Chicago, IL abt 1880
s. Edmund b. 11/14/1886
Florian & Valentina Plenzler, Chicago, IL
s. John
Ludwig Plenzler m. Anastasia Banach, Chicago abt 1870
Ludwig Plenzler m. Mary Roda, Chicago abt 1890
I did not know whether Joseph had siblings. I had hunches (obvious, a very large family) but never found direct reference to any of them until I was analyzing baptismal records. My mom most likely would not know about any siblings.
I will try to do some more digging into the Toledo records to locate Margaret.

I guess I should start at the beginning. I am from the Catherine Plenzler – Jacob Niemier line. I can send you reports and some documents. Let me know if this is the best place to correspond with you. My e-mail is jamminjudy@gmail.com.
I have the marriage of Catherine and Jacob from the Poznan Project and her parents are listed as Joseph Plenzler and Marie Lisiecka.(both deceased before 1881) Michael Mruk, who married Margaretha in 1866, (according to a listing in the Poznan site) signs the NIEMIER marriage certificate. He is 35 years old in 1881 when they marry) And from his own marriage he was 20 in 1866. that makes him born in 1846 in both cases)
The question still remains is who is Peter, born in 1894?
I have more info on the other 2 sisters that I will be glad to share with you.
Judy

Joseph Plenzler and Eva Dauer are my great grand parents. Yes they did have siblings. He had several brothers and at least one sister. He and Eva settled in Toledo Ohio. Several others located in South Bend Indiana and others near LAke of the Woods in Minnesota. We were always told thqt anyone with this last name were related.
